sarah + trevor

Sarah and Trevor’s gorgeous Alabama wedding rung in the new year with classic southern elegance. The Birmingham wedding planning team at Becky’s Brides thoughtfully curated every detail to bring the couple’s vision to life.

The New Year’s Eve wedding took place at one of the most popular wedding venues in Alabama, Hamilton Place at Pursell Farms. Surrounded by acres of manicured lawns framed with live oaks, this historic manor is the perfect southern wedding venue. The light and airy interior came to life with dramatic blue and white florals that lined the aisle, framed the altar, and created a stunning organic wedding arch around the rustic cross centerpiece. The ceremony space was a breathtaking collaboration by Becky’s Brides and Alabama florist Mary Donald

To fit this elegant wedding theme, Sarah visited our Birmingham bridal shop with a specific vision in mind for her wedding dress. She worked with our designer Heidi Elnora to design a custom wedding dress from scratch. It is a rare, but truly special opportunity whenever our team creates a brand new wedding dress design for a bride. Sarah’s couture wedding dress experience started with an initial appointment and sketch of her design: a chic wedding dress with blouson sleeves, low draped back, and unique waistband tailored to her petite frame.

Heidi and our design team then created a custom pattern and muslin of the design that was used for Sarah’s first fitting. Once the muslin garment was fit to Sarah’s body and tweaked to her liking, our team created the final gown out of a luxurious satin crepe. It was an incredible process to work with Sarah on her custom design and create her minimalist wedding dress just for her.

Sarah’s chic wedding dress was complemented by the selection of curated bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN in varied styles, prints, and shades of blue. We love mismatched bridesmaids dresses, because it allows each woman to express her personal style. To complete the bridal party style, Emmy Hunt with MP Taylor styled everyone with effortless bridal hair and natural wedding makeup.

After a grand wedding ceremony, newlyweds Sarah and Trevor joined their guests for an indoor/outdoor reception. Inside, the X-back chairs and rustic wooden tables provided by event rental company Decor to Adore set the tone with vintage-inspired blue glassware and blue velvet linens–the overall look was stunning! When guests were ready to hit the outdoor dance floor, an expansive wedding tent draped in twinkle lights by On Site Productions welcomed everyone to the black and white checkered dance floor.

Crowned with a grand disco ball, this scene was the perfect spot to celebrate the new year! We love how wedding videography team Summer Films captured the spirit of the evening on film. Drinks and dancing led into a spectacular fireworks show and sparkler send-off for the husband and wife.

We absolutely loved working with Sarah, and it was an honor to create a one-of-a-kind wedding dress for her big day. We thank her for trusting us with her gown, and we wish her and Trevor all the best!
