kaylee + rob

Kaylee and Rob’s intimate wedding in the woods looked straight out of a movie. We love the way award-winning wedding photographer Yellow Bird Visuals captured every moment with an artistic and authentic eye.

The couple wed at the bride’s family farm Wellingmede Farm, which set a whimsical, yet rustic scene for the ceremony. From our initial consultation with Kaylee, she playfully warned us that she would be walking through the woods in her wedding dress, and she was prepared for it to get dirty. We love Kaylee’s relaxed wedding day approach, and it was important to us that we found a wedding dress that fit her effortless, yet chic style.

Kaylee worked with our designer and founder Heidi Elnora to complete her wedding day vision. After trying on a variety of styles, she ultimately fell in love with our May May Cates minimalist wedding dress. This wedding gown features a V-neckline, flowing sheath skirt, and a dramatic cowl back wedding dress detail. Kaylee personalized her dress by upgrading the fabric to a luxurious satin crepe, which added an elegant shine to her clean and classic wedding dress. For the finishing touch, Kaylee selected our Annie Veil, a stunning lace wedding veil with hand-sewn appliques that resembled the falling leaves surrounding the couple as they said “I do.”

The wooded environment inspired the overall wedding aesthetic–from the copper-colored bridesmaid dress to the warm neutral florals styled by Birmingham florist Wild Things. Local wedding planner Caroline Mills did an incredible job bringing together classic bridal elements that fit within the rustic setting.

After the ceremony, the entire wedding party strolled through the woods to the at-home wedding reception that spanned the property’s charming home, barn and outdoor tented area. The atmospheric lighting by AG Lighting set the mood for the evening, while music by DJ Dorothy Franklin brought it to life. Every element of the reception celebrated the relaxed, communal spirit of the day–from the family-style food catered by FoodBar to the romantic lantern ceremony that took place by the lake. The naked wedding cake by Brandi M. Cooper fit the rustic venue perfectly and looked absolutely delicious.

From start to finish, Kaylee and Rob’s farm wedding was exactly their style, and we felt like we were part of the entire day. We adored working with Kaylee and wish her and Rob a lifetime of happiness!
