meg + austin

Meg and Austin’s southern garden wedding made us smile! The genuine love shared between these two is evident in every photo captured by wedding photographer Amy Kolo

This Highlands, North Carolina wedding took place at the Old Edwards Inn, a European-style resort full of historic charm and surrounded by a lush landscape. Meg and her girlfriends got ready at the Hutchinson House on site, which set the scene for the beautiful day. Alabama makeup artist Danielle Ivy Chiepalich styled everyone with chic wedding updos and natural makeup–we especially love Meg’s effortless bridal chignon. While they were getting ready, the group enjoyed prosecco from a hand painted bottle with the couple’s wedding monogram and “Megeritas” in honor of the bride-to-be.

Meg’s clean and classic wedding dress was tailored perfectly to her style. She started with our Ella Grace A-line wedding dress from our Build-A-Bride™ collection. What brides love about this minimalist wedding dress collection is that everything can be mix-and-matched for a custom combination. Meg did exactly that, changing her neckline to the gentle scoop neckline of our Anna Beth dress. She also added a ribbon-inspired strap and our beloved Miriam Bow in raw silk, which added a uniquely elegant texture to her wedding day look.

The ice blue bridesmaids dresses from Bella Bridesmaids complemented Meg’s timeless wedding dress. The maids of honor wore strapless floral gowns, which provided a subtle pop against the blue high-neck bridesmaids dresses. Tying everything together were the gorgeous flower bouquets by The Blossom Jar, which coordinated perfectly with the other floral motifs that bloomed throughout the wedding.

As Meg walked down the aisle to meet groom Austin at the end, guests were serenaded by classical string music by Allegro Music Events. The entire ceremony scene was picture perfect; the team at Pinnacle Events did a lovely job bringing the couple’s elegantly timeless wedding day vision to life.

Following the ceremony, guests entered an enchanting reception space under a wooden pavilion strung with cafe lights. The long dining tables with wooden X-back chairs were perfect choices for an intimate wedding reception, as they allowed the entire group to congregate together as the sun set.

The classic white wedding cake by Ashley Peppel matched the gardenside wedding style, as did the mouthwatering bites and drinks provided by the venue’s catering team. The party came alive once southern acoustic band Melonbelly started performing–the addition of red, white, and blue leis made the dancefloor extra fun! Our favorite accessory, however, was the floral cat ears Austin gifted Meg to wear at the reception. The evening ended with a lively sparkler send-off.

Meg is one of the kindest souls we’ve ever met, and working with her to create her dream wedding dress was a true honor. We wish this sweet couple all the best!
