lillian + katie

Lillian and Katie’s fairytale wedding left us awestruck! From the brides’ custom designer ensembles to the whimsical florals that enveloped the room in bold color, every detail was stylishly curated for this fashion-forward couple. Luxury wedding planner Michelle Gainey and her team at Lemiga Events designed the event straight out of a storybook. It was an honor to work with bride Lillian to not only design a custom wedding dress for her, but also four occasion dresses for her bridal party.

From her first private appointment with designer Heidi Elnora, Lillian knew she wanted a wedding dress with sparkle that would fit the fairytale theme and exude glamour. Heidi worked with Lillian to custom create a V-neck wedding dress with a flowing ball gown skirt. Together, they selected unique layers of sparkle fabric and textured netting that created a gorgeous all-over glimmer. For extra drama, Heidi designed a coordinating detachable wedding dress train that brought regal elegance to Lillian’s bridal look.

The artistry of this couture wedding gown is the opulent beading in a whimsical floral and branch pattern. Each applique was draped, cut, and sewn by hand to add textured sparkle as it organically trails down both the dress and the detachable train. Lillian’s dress gleamed from every angle, and it was set off perfectly by the bride’s silver Badgley Mischka heels and crystal bridal comb.

Bride Katie looked equally stunning in her custom velvet tuxedo by designer Scoobie West–we especially love the added touch of the bejeweled floral brooch and black studded Stuart Weitzman heels.Just as Lillian’s gown transformed for the reception, Katie changed into a chic raspberry-colored tuxedo after the ceremony. Not only did Scoobie design Katie’s tuxedos, but he also styled both brides’ hair and makeup—he is truly man of many talents!

As Lillian quickly became like family to our team, it felt only fitting that we also outfitted her own family for her wedding day. We worked with both Lillian’s mother and sister to create a gorgeous Mother of the Bride gown and Maid of Honor gown. Both ladies selected designs from our recently released occasion dress collection, then worked with our designers to select custom color swatches for their looks. Lillian’s mom chose a lovely lavender for her ruched “Gardenia” Mother of the Bride dress, and Lillian’s sister Bella chose a pale pink for her off-shoulder “Verbena” bridesmaid dress. These colors worked beautifully with the wedding palette and complimented Lillian’s dress. Bella loved our occasion collection so much, she also selected a second look for the reception, our chic “Fern” formal jumpsuit with a bow.

To round out this stylish bridal party, Heidi created a custom flower girl dress for Mila, Lillian’s sweet niece. The pair have a special relationship, and Lillian wanted Mila to be just as fabulous as her on the wedding day. We customized our “Sadie Lou” flower girl dress with illusion long sleeves, a tulle train, and sparkle buttons in back. We then took the same sparkle beading from Lillian’s dress and hand-draped and sewed the appliques to Mila’s dress to create a mini version that referenced Lilian’s designer gown. We love this entire family, and it was such a joy to dress them all for Lillian’s day!

Before the ceremony, Lillian and Katie took photos with renowned New York wedding photographer IVASH Photography at the historic Swann House in Atlanta, which served as the perfect castle-like fairytale backdrop. Once they arrived at their wedding venue, the Atlanta History Center, they were greeted by a magical vision: the entire room had been draped in the breathtaking sprays of flowers in a rainbow of colors. The arches that lined the runway bloomed in shades of lilac, pink, blue, and orange intermixed with glowing candles and pampas grass; the floral design by Catherine Wayman was some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen.

After exchanging vows with award-winning officiant Rev. Dawn, Lillian and Katie celebrated down the aisle and entered their enchanted wedding reception. In a scene more beautiful than a movie, the room came alive with glamorous crystal chandeliers by Signature Chandeliers, elegant dark teal drapes and linens by Unique Event Elements and Nuage Designs Inc., and a tree blooming with pink florals that arched over the center of the room. Just as grand was the seven-tiered wedding cake by Sweet Details, which showcased a swirl of florals that accented the custom wedding monogram of the couple’s initials in the center.

The talented team at Crush Event Design brought the couple’s edgy fairytale vision to life. We especially love the tables, which featured floral and fauna set beneath clear tabletops, and the gold-embellished stationary by Papered Wonders that felt worthy of royalty. The same design elements from the paper goods were featured on the custom dance floor by Indaglow Productions. Set off by mystical fog, the dance floor easily became one of the most popular spots at the reception. The incredible videography team at Current Films captured every fun moment from beginning to end.

Lillian and Katie’s wedding day was breathtakingly beautiful, not only because of the stunning design, but also because of the love between them. Being part of their wedding day is something we will never forget, and we wish these newlyweds so much happiness!
