lauren + stephen

Bright florals and bold color filled Lauren and Stephen’s summer wedding with southern charm. The couple got married at Lauren’s childhood home, and their day was beautifully captured by Eric and Jamie Photography, a team beloved for their light and airy wedding photography.

We love at-home weddings, because it allows such an important day to take place somewhere that is meaningful for the bride and groom. It was here that Lauren got ready with her bridesmaids, who helped her into her Heidi Elnora custom wedding dress.

When Lauren stepped into our atelier, we knew she needed a truly one-of-a-kind wedding dress for her big day, and our design team created the ultimate wedding dress with 3-D flowers for this fashion-forward bride. We started with our Laura Lynne light and airy wedding dress, which features a plunging neckline and open back wedding dress detail. Lauren selected a full 3-D floral lace overlay in our iconic Santa Rosa lace that covered her gown in a garden of whimsical flowers that delicately trailed up the sheer back.

“I never would’ve imagined all the comments and compliments I received about my dress,” Lauren told us after her wedding day. “I’ve told everyone I know that’s gotten engaged to go to Heidi Elnora first before wasting their time elsewhere! It’s so beautiful, and I’m still so obsessed with it!”

It was an honor to create such a special and unique wedding dress for Lauren–it stole the show at her wedding in the best way! We love how Lauren styled her floral wedding dress with a clean and modern bridal ponytail and whimsical floral earrings that tied in perfectly with her gown. Lauren’s bright and colorful bouquet was the perfect complement to her bridal look and popped against the soft grey bridesmaids dresses.

After exchanging vows in an intimate backyard ceremony, Lauren and Stephen joined their guests under the wedding tent for a southern soiree reception. The bold floral centerpieces by Alabama florist Steadham McGowin brought a “wow” factor to the reception, especially on top of the round bar built by none other than the bride’s dad! The unique decor accents, such as the suspended florals at the wedding photobooth and the organic chandeliers made from branches and ivy, made this wedding one to remember. You can see Lauren’s artistic eye and appreciation for the unexpected in every detail of her wedding day.

The white linen furniture provided by Brendle Rentals and the cheerful fabrics in classic southern prints brought a casual comfort to the reception. The catering by Jennie Weller Catering & Events was a big hit, as were the custom cups and koozies by Caroline Heeren Creative  that featured the couple’s adorable pup! Lauren and Stephen opted out of the traditional wedding cake, choosing instead to serve a buffet of indulgent wedding cheesecakes by That Cheesecake..

As the live music by Norris Dates & the Power Surges kept the wedding guests on their feet, Lauren changed into her send-off dress–a fun and flirty ruffled red mini dress! Short wedding dresses are a top bridal trend right now, and we love that Lauren opted for bold color for her reception. Lauren and Stephen exited their reception in style in a decked-out golf cart adorned with “Mr. and Mrs.” Congrats to this fun couple!

We adored working with Lauren, who enthusiastically allowed us to be creative with her whimsical wedding dress. She wore the dress like a queen, and we couldn’t be happier for her and Stephen!
