audrey + bradley

Audrey and Bradley’s lakeside wedding was truly stunning in every way. Their bright spring wedding took place at Flagstone Farms, an outdoor wedding venue that houses an open-air wedding chapel, a barn, and a cottage on the lake. The lakeside wedding venue made for a lovely backdrop for the light and airy wedding photography by Selah Prouty and videography by Adam Prouty

Audrey’s custom wedding dress had a special story behind it that made for a beautiful wedding tradition. She brought in her mother’s wedding dress from 1985 and asked our team of fashion designers to reconstruct the heirloom wedding gown into a modern wedding dress. At Heidi Elnora Atelier, we specialize in custom wedding dresses, and reconstructing heirloom wedding dresses is one of our favorite creative challenges. We reworked this vintage wedding dress into a high-neck wedding dress with lace that honored Audrey’s mother, while now being perfectly tailored for Audrey’s figure and style.

We often get brides who want to incorporate pieces from their mom’s wedding dress into their gown or reconstruct an heirloom wedding dress altogether, and our fashion design team takes an individualized approach to every single one of these brides to ensure we are creating a one-of-a-kind wedding dress for them. For Audrey, we recommended adding our Clara Skirt tulle wedding dress overlay to add soft, dreamy layers of tulle to her custom wedding gown--and she loved it!

“We found the perfect piece to bring it all together, says Audrey. “I felt like a bride, and the dress now feels like my own. The team listened to what I wanted but also gave some fantastic ideas. I would still be trying to figure out how to make it my dream dress without them!”

Audrey’s timeless wedding day look was completed by a loose bridal updo and natural wedding makeup by Birmingham beauty team Elysian Studio. Her crystal blue wedding heels were the perfect touch and complemented the light blue bridesmaids dresses worn by her best friends. The wedding bouquets incorporated dusty tones of pink and blue, which felt vintage-inspired and suited for the natural elements of this April wedding.

The Samford University Strings provided beautiful instrumental wedding music as Audrey walked down the aisle in the open-air chapel with lakeside views. Following the wedding ceremony, guests enjoyed a rustic wedding reception featuring a beautiful wedding cake by local cake artist Julie Hendricks with Sweet Magnolia. The video game groom’s cake was a cute detail that captured this couple’s fun spirit! Audrey and Bradley shared their favorite local Birmingham treats with their guests as their wedding favors, a sentimental detail we adored.

We truly loved how personal Audrey and Bradley’s wedding day was, and every detail felt perfectly them. Thank you to Audrey for trusting us with such a special family heirloom--it was an honor to create this unique wedding dress!
