Meagan and Mitchell are such a fun couple, and it was a treat for our fashion designers to create the bride’s custom reception dress! Courtney Bell with La Belle Vie wedding planning in Birmingham did a fabulous job creating an exuberant, welcoming wedding day from start to finish, and local wedding photographer Heather Durham Photography captured the details beautifully through her light and airy wedding photography.

Bride Meagan purchased her ball gown wedding dress for her ceremony at Carriage House, a bridal salon in Alabama. She accessorized her classic wedding day look with Jennifer Behr earrings, a beloved bridal jewelry brand of our designers, along with her three-stone diamond engagement ring and infinity wedding band from Steed’s Jewelers and Diamonds Direct. Meagan’s natural bridal makeup and bridal chignon were done by Brittany Massey, who is not only a popular hair and makeup artist in Birmingham, but she is also a longtime creative team member of Heidi Elnora Atelier team!

We adore the bridesmaid pajamas with ruffles and Meagan’s white feathered pajamas worn while getting ready. The ladies changed into flowy bridesmaids dresses from Bella Bridesmaids in Homewood. The natural wedding bouquets they carried--along with the rest of the stunning wedding florals--were done by local florist Alli J Creative. The slate blue mother of the bride dress and champagne mother of the groom dress both brought beautiful color to the wedding party while keeping a neutral palette.

Following the church wedding ceremony, the wedding reception commenced at Haven, a popular large wedding venue in Birmingham. We love that Meagan and Mitchell had live painter Marlee Ledbetter at their wedding reception to capture the spirit of the evening.The event design featuring chic gray event furniture with gold details was created by PropHouse and Decor to Adore, two talented event vendors in Birmingham.

After cutting the gorgeous wedding cake by Birmingham cake designer Telia Johnson, Meagan changed into an adorable high-low wedding dress. Right now, ruffle short wedding dresses and wedding dresses with bows are uber popular, and Meagan’s custom wedding reception dress with hand-sewn feather plumes made our heart skip a beat!

Our fashion design team created a custom pattern for Meagan’s halter wedding dress silhouette, which starts with a strapless wedding mini dress as the base, topped with a custom tulle overlay with keyhole back. The horsehair hem gives the tulle overlay a beautiful structure and highlights the feathered wedding dress detail. Our fashion designers hand-beaded Meagan’s reception dress with Swarovski rhinestones and crystal beading, making it the perfect sparkly short dress. This short wedding dress is not only perfect for dancing at the reception, but it allowed Meagan to show off her Jeffrey Campbell sparkly heels! We are seeing more and more brides who are looking to change into a nontraditional wedding dress for their reception, and we love that Meagan chose something truly unique for her special day!
