amelia + matthew

Amelia and Matthew’s Georgia wedding brought classic Hollywood glamour into the modern era. Every detail that wedding planner and florist Mindy Hendley coordinated for this New Year’s Day wedding made it a timeless affair to remember.

Amelia got ready with her bridesmaids at a family home, which was adorned with the most beautiful greenery and white roses on the exterior. From the classic wedding invitations by Empress Stationary to the yellow gold wedding rings, each element set the scene for an elegantly traditional wedding. The hair and makeup team also took a classic approach to beauty, with makeup artist Haley Thomas styling Amelia and each bridesmaid with natural glam makeup. We love the chic bridal updo that Donielle Gay and Krystal Frost created for Amelia’s wedding day hair; her low chignon allowed her statement wedding earrings by Alabama jewelry designer Susan Standeffer to pop.

We created a timeless wedding dress for Amelia that transformed from ceremony to reception, allowing her to have a two-in-one wedding dress look. She started with our Coco Marie figure-flattering wedding dress, which she personalized with a straight neckline and extended train. Amelia loved the idea of an off-the-shoulder wedding dress, so we designed a custom off-shoulder drape for her by extending the width of our much-loved fabric panel. The showstopper on Amelia’s designer wedding dress was her bridal bow, which made a dramatic statement with its extra-long streamers that trailed down the back. Wedding dresses with bows are trending big this season, and our team of designers loves being able to custom create each bow to fit each bride’s vision!

Amelia looked like a Hollywood starlet in her elegant wedding dress, and her groom Matthew looked dapper in his black tuxedo with cummerbund. The groomsmen’s matching black tuxedos and bridesmaids’ glamorous black satin bridesmaids dresses by Bella Bridesmaids completed the chic black and white bridal party style.

Following a traditional church ceremony, newlyweds Amelia and Matthew hopped into a vintage car provided by Lock Williford to meet their guests at a grand wedding reception in a tent strung ceiling to floor in twinkling cafe lights. The overall look was magical and perfectly suited for a wedding that celebrated the first day of the year. From the vintage-inspired furniture to the incredible floral and bursting light centerpiece hanging from the ceiling, the reception space was breathtakingly beautiful. Amazing Event Rentals and Don's Event Rentals did a fabulous job outfitting the space to bring the couple’s vision to life.

As we mentioned, Amelia’s fit-to-flare wedding dress transformed for the reception. She removed her off-shoulder wedding dress overlay and added a illusion long sleeve topper with buttons down the back. It is amazing how a simple change in overlays made Amelia’s gown look like a completely new wedding dress! With her reception wedding dress ready, Amelia joined Matthew for a champagne tower and toast to kick off their glamorous wedding reception.

Not to be outshone by the stunning decor, the food by Amy Buice with Ooh La La Catering was loved by guests–especially the tabletop charcuterie board that fed a crowd! The classic tiered wedding cake by Beth Cremer added a sweet element to the feast, while wedding band Az Izz brought so much fun throughout the evening and kept guests on the dance floor.

Not only was Amelia and Matthew’s southern wedding beautiful from start to finish, but photographer Maggie Braucher captured every moment to perfection with her elevated wedding photography. Videographer Sydney Bryant with Thread Film Co. created a long-lasting memory of the wedding day with her incredible wedding videography.

Amelia was an absolute joy to work with, and we loved creating a one-of-a-kind look for her wedding day. It is so fun when brides come in with ideas for their dress and trust us to bring it to life. We wish her and Matthew all the best as they start their journey as husband and wife!
