alaina + justin
Alaina and Justin’s lovely May wedding encapsulated a romantic spring day with vintage-inspired touches. Alabama wedding planner Courtney Bell at La Belle Vie Weddings delivered beautiful and thoughtful details that brought the couple’s wedding day vision to life, while popular wedding photographer Lauren Bailey captured each moment from beginning to end.
Bride Alaina prepped for the day with her bridesmaids in matching getting ready pajamas; she wore a white bridal PJ set, while her girls wore minimalist blue leopard PJs. Birmingham hair and makeup artist Melody Craig styled loose curls for the bridesmaids’ hair and an elegant bridal updo for Alaina. We love the celadon green bridesmaids dresses with straight necklines from Bella's Bridesmaids, which complemented the guys’ classic black tuxedos from Men's Warehouse.
Alaina’s lightweight crepe wedding dress uniquely captured her style by combining elements of several Build-a-Bride wedding dresses to create her dream dress. She started with our Codie Lee V-neck wedding dress, then adapted the back of the skirt to that of our Tiffany Nicole mermaid wedding dress. We love this custom design choice, because the flowing skirt with box pleats created a dramatic train when fanned out. For extra detail, Alaina selected our custom crystal beaded appliques to adorn the pleated train and shoulders, adding subtle sparkle to this embellished wedding dress.
The couple exchanged vows at Reid Chapel at Samford University, a beautiful Birmingham church wedding venue. The church came alive with live instrumental ceremony music by string quartet Cahaba River Strings. After the ceremony, guests traveled to Haven, where they were welcomed with a tower of bubbly champagne flutes. The expansive wedding venue was decorated like a beautiful spring day with grand pink and white floral centerpieces by Forever Wild Floral Co. and warm, vintage furniture and decor by Prophouse & Decor to Adore. We love the combination of rustic pieces with glamorous accents. The calligraphy on the wedding signs and mirrors by Melissa Gullatte with Gracefully Made Art enhanced the vintage vibe, while the lighting by On-Site Productions brought everything together. The ivy wall photo booth by WellDunn Entertainment was a hotspot for all of the wedding guests!
Alabama caterer Kathy G. and Co. served an amazing spread for the reception, while local bakery Cookie Fix provided five tiers of cookies for the guests. The centerpiece was a white wedding cake from Edgar's Bakery adorned with fresh flowers and greenery. Live music by wedding band City Heat kept the party on the dance floor until the guests sent off Alaina and Justin in style with a sparkler send-off.
We adored working with Alaina, and we wish her and Justin a lifetime of happiness!
