kayla + stephen
Kayla and Stephen’s destination wedding in Savannah, Georgia was an intimate occasion that embodied the essence of quintessentially southern. Kayla’s vision began with custom wedding invitation created by Swag in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. These invitations mapped out the story of what was to come. From parasols to live oaks, Wormsloe Plantation set the backdrop for Kayla and Stephen’s garden wedding. No detail went unnoticed when it came to Kayla’s vision thanks to the team at Swanson Signature Events an event wedding planner in Savannah, Georgia.
Savannah wedding florist, Kati Esser Designs used a gorgeous combination of O’Hara garden roses, Juliet garden roses, playa blanca roses, blue delphinium, ranunculus, butterfly ranunculus, sweet pea, and hydrangeas to create the playful garden party feel.
When it came to wedding food, Southern hospitality was displayed with open arms. The guest enjoyed passed appetizers that included: a variety of deviled eggs, Asian taco with ginger teriyaki slaw and pineapple salsa, sushi bar, and raw oyster bar. The plated dinner at the historic The Whitman Mansion consisted of: she crab soup, garden salad with apples, pear, goat cheese, pecan with cider vinaigrette, stout short rib and raspberry, demi glaze with garlic mashed potato and parsley carrots. As a special surprise to her family, Kayla had Savannah Culinary Retreat recreate her grandmother’s Blackberry Cobbler recipe with vanilla ice cream. Talk about the ultimate Savannah soiree!
Kayla’s bridal party consisted of her niece and nephew, who both wore Revelry and her maid of honor; Kayla’s German shepherd, Lucca. How cute is that?! Stephen looked dapper in his white tuxedo jacket and custom bow tie by Brackish When it came to Kayla’s wedding gown, she knew she wanted to wear a fashion-forward yet timeless Heidi Elnora Atelier couture gown, designed by Heidi Elnora herself. This one-of-a-kind wedding dress was made in a high-low wedding dress silhouette. Delicately pleated, organza ruffles draped the bodice at an angle then swept into a chapel length train. This light and airy couture piece was hand-made with over 80+hours of sewing and hand-applique work. The bodice is adorned with lace in a hydrangea pattern that is perfectly draped over the breast. Kayla wore an heirloom veil that was designed using vintage lace that her brother had given her.
Kayla was very intentional with every decision and design detail when it came to making sure she and Stephen had the perfect wedding. Because of all of her hard work and with the help of some amazing wedding vendors, Kayla was able to truly enjoy her wedding day as captured by destination wedding photographer, Ale Santana Photography and destination videographer, Loyler Films.
We wish Kayla and Stephen a long live together filled with so much LOVE! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your story. It was a true honor.
