caroline + jamie
Caroline looked like a modern ballerina bride, and her wedding to Jamie couldn’t have been lovelier! Alabama wedding coordinator Hillary Hallman did a wonderful job bringing Caroline’s elegant vision to life, and local wedding photographer Mariah Oldacre captured each moment with authenticity and joy.
Park Crest is a popular Birmingham wedding venue for its sweeping landscape and spacious, rustic interior, and it set a gorgeous scene for Caroline and Jamie’s wedding--even on a rainy day! The clean and classic wedding stationery was a perfect match for the couple’s timeless wedding bands, and the subtle hints of blush pink were peppered throughout the wedding day. Caroline got ready with her bridesmaids in coordinating satin bridal pajamas and fuzzy slippers before changing into her wedding dress and sharing a sweet moment with her mom.
For her wedding dress, Caroline selected our Aurora Maya tulle ball gown wedding dress from our Build-A-Bride™ collection. Aurora Maya is one of our most popular wedding dress styles because it is a modern minimalist ball gown--it is both romantic and chic. Caroline personalized her wedding dress by slightly lowering the front neckline as well as lowering the back neckline to create a wedding dress with an open back. For added drama, our team designed a custom Miriam Bow for Caroline. Wedding dresses with bows are a big wedding dress trend, and we loved adding this customized design element to Caroline’s clean and classic wedding dress.
A feature of the Aurora Maya wedding dress our brides love is the nude underlay, which allows the layers of lightweight tulle and sparkle gazar to pop. The nude lining also gives this ball gown wedding dress a subtle blush hue, which tied in perfectly with the blush pink bridesmaids dresses. Local hair and makeup artist Natalie Moore styled the bridesmaids and did Caroline’s beautiful bridal makeup and curled bridal hairstyle accented with a sparkly headpiece. The blush and white wedding bouquets by Alabama florist Leanne White were perfect for this effortless summer wedding. The groomsmen wore light grey suits and ties, while Jamie sported a classic black suit that matched the timelessness of Caroline’s wedding day look.
The wedding ceremony space was breathtaking--we adore the round wedding arch that was covered in greenery and florals. It served as the ideal centerpiece for this event venue that was set up in a circular arrangement with gold Chivari chairs and elegant chandeliers overhead.
For the reception, a buffet spread and three-tiered wedding cake by Dreamcakes--which was adorned with a bow to match Caroline’s wedding dress--caught everyone’s attention in the best way! The live band kept everyone on their feet before sending off the couple with a fun sparkler send off.
Caroline was such a sweet bride to work with, and we are so happy to have been a part of her wedding day!
