jess + ian

We just love it when a couple injects their unique personalities into their wedding day, and Jess and Ian brought a major dose of eccentric glamour to their unique wedding venue, Sonnet House. All the personalized details and fun moments (keep scrolling for some epic dance party reception pics!) were captured by Birmingham wedding photographer Kevin Roberts Photography.

We’ll start with one of our favorite elements from the wedding day: the stunning vintage black car provided by Coats Classic Cars that made for rockabilly-inspired wedding photos. Jess wore a beautiful whimsical wedding dress she customized with our fashion design team. Jess started with our Coco Marie sweetheart wedding dress, which is one of our most figure-flattering wedding dresses and looks beautiful on curvy brides.

The classic silhouette of Coco Marie served as the perfect base for Jess’s unique embellishments. We draped a beaded lace panel along the bodice and added sparkling tulle wedding dress sleeves to transform this classic wedding gown into an off-shoulder sparkle wedding dress. The illusion sparkle straps added a whimsical detail to Jess’s beaded wedding gown.

As the only bridal fashion house in Alabama, we are known for our custom wedding dresses, custom evening gowns, custom debutante dresses, and our work with heirloom wedding dresses. It is so fun for our fashion design team to work with a bride like Jess who started with a simple silhouette and transformed it into a designer wedding dress as one-of-a-kind as she is!

Jess’s sparkling bridal headband and bold lip were the perfect touches--her wedding hair was done by local hairstylist Samantha Eversole, and her bridal makeup was done by Birmingham makeup artist Carson McDonald. Jess’s emerald green wedding shoes were a chic touch and tied in perfectly with the hunter green bridesmaids dresses. While they were getting glammed up, Jess’s girls wore floral bridesmaid robes that fit Jess’s whimsical wedding theme to a T.

The florals featured bold shades of purple, wine, and raspberry pink and fit the vibe of this October outdoor wedding. The wedding flowers were done by Corey Daniel, a full service event design and floral company in Birmingham. We adore how Corey worked with Jess to incorporate sentimental photographs into her wedding bouquet--what a great wedding bouquet idea!

It is evident that Jess and Ian focused on bringing as many sentimental details as they could to make their wedding day uniquely them. One of the most personal elements was the wedding cake, which was baked and decorated by the father of the bride--how sweet! Sonnet House provided the wedding catering, and Birmingham ice cream shop Big Spoon Creamery offered a sweet ice cream treat for the wedding guests at the reception.

There are so many memorable moments that make up Jess and Ian’s perfect wedding day--we are so grateful to have been a part of it
