Lydia and Kendrick’s lovely spring wedding celebrated the couple’s genuine love with a “barefoot black tie” theme. Held at The Historic Whitehall wedding venue in Louisville, Kentucky, this 19th century antebellum home made for the perfect garden wedding venue. Local wedding planner Rhonda Knott brought together Lydia’s vision in beautiful detail.

The classic wedding invitations by The Knot set the scene for this effortlessly formal outdoor wedding. As Lydia and her girls got ready within the historic home, Lydia wore a gorgeous white lace bridal robe. Her easy bridal updo was done by hairstylist McKenna Harpring, while her glamorous bridal makeup with a bold berry lip was done by McKinney Makeup Artistry.

When Lydia came to Heidi Elnora Atelier, she knew exactly what she wanted for her gown: a trumpet wedding dress with an off-the-shoulder drape. She chose our Coco Marie minimalist wedding dress and added the unique custom design detail of a sheer illusion back with buttons. Our fashion designers created a custom fabric drape that they hand-pleated on Lydia’s body. One of the most coveted aspects of choosing a custom wedding dress is that we can hand drape custom patterns on our bride, allowing her to be an integral part of the step-by-step design process. The way the custom off-shoulder neckline draped along Lydia’s shoulders and criss-crossed over the sheer back felt elegant, timeless, and exactly what Lydia envisioned.

Lydia’s chapel length wedding veil, delicate drop bridal earrings, and Badgley Mischka crystal bridal heels finished her timeless wedding look beautifully; it was complemented by Kendrick’s black tuxedo. The blush pink bridesmaids dresses and blush pink flower girl dresses fit the spring wedding vibe--even the spring shower couldn’t tamp the joyful spirit of this wedding party!

The spring florals by Charissa’s Floral Design were bursting with sprays of natural greenery accented with pink and white flowers. A circle of greenery surrounded the white wedding cake at the reception, which took place in a grand wedding tent in the garden. The Claire Morgan Little Big Band provided lively entertainment throughout the evening, which ended with a spirited sendoff featuring rose petals and ribbon shakers. Kentucky wedding photographer Todd Pellowe Photography captured every moment and emotion from the day in perfect detail.
