Sweet Taylor and her husband Ryan were a delight to work with, and their sunny March wedding was filled with sentimental details. Alabama wedding photographer Greenlaw Photography captured every moment--from getting ready to the final send-off.

For her wedding dress, Taylor wanted to do something a little bit different: she brought in her mother’s vintage wedding dress and asked our fashion design team to reconstruct it into a modern wedding dress. Wedding dress reconstructions are a fun, creative challenge for our seamstresses because we aim to maintain the unique details of the heirloom wedding dress while fitting it perfectly to our bride’s figure and modern-day vision.

To make this vintage wedding dress better suited for Taylor, we removed the sleeves and gathers in the front panel of the original wedding dress to create a cleaner silhouette. We then reconstructed and refitted the wedding dress bodice for Taylor, taking extra care to highlight our favorite wedding dress detail: the unique pearl fringe that drapes on the bodice and frames the open-back wedding dress. We love the end result, and so did Taylor!

Taylor completed her wedding day look with our cathedral-length wedding veil that framed her heirloom wedding dress. Her bridal hair with loose curls was styled by Jaime at Tangled Beauty Bar, and her bridal makeup was done by local makeup artist Lauren Ortego. Her classic wedding bouquet of roses and baby breath came from Hoover Florist.

The couple exchanged vows in a traditional church wedding ceremony at the Hueytown First United Methodist Church, followed by a lovely wedding reception at Venue 3131, a unique wedding venue in Hueytown that offers four venue spaces in one: a chapel, courtyard, studio, and gallery.
